HISTORY OF THE NSCA PRESIDENT AND BOARD CHAIR POSITIONS

From its inception and up through the 2017-2018 fiscal year, the NSCA Governing Board was led by a Board President that was elected by the NSCA membership.  During the 2017-2018 fiscal year, the NSCA Governing Board went through an extensive process to fully adopt the Policy Goverance Model as its governance structure.  As part of this process the leader of the board's title was changed from President to Board Chair for the 2018-2019 fiscal year to better reflect the role of this position within the Policy Governance Model.  At that time, the Governing Board began choosing the Board Chair from the elected Governing Board Members.
